Farewell 19-05-2006

One of the best part in my life: Engineering

The four years of engineering went by so fast. Academically what i remember is for the first month of the semester nothing is done (we just wait for our previous semester results), then starts the first internals. Three internals with a gap of a month and in no time 3 months are gone. Now there is cricket, throw ball and other stuffs in between these months. Three months have passed in a blink. Then is the lab records, assignments and lab internals in the fourth month and at the end of the fourth month starts the study holidays and lab externals and continues to the fifth month. Fifth month we have our Externals. and finally our semester holidays for a month. In no time a semester is over and the waiting game starts again.

When I joined East Point, I never thought that these four years will be happiest years of my life. I loved the company of my friends. Am proud to say that the Friendships that i have made in my engineering is now more than 7 years old. Its very hard or rather impossible to have so many friends for such a long time. Though I have been close to a very few of them, i have also had a good time with others. I will never forget our IS Cricket team, which will walk into the ground without any practice and invariably walk out with a winning note. The only team (out of 17 teams) who had girls in their cheer group. The days in which we played late and did not get and source to get back home. On one such day we took the brick tractor to reach Avalahalli after winning a cricket match, the days we cheered for our throw-ball team, the walks from our college to Bidrahalli bus stop was so much fun every single day, the bus rides in the college bus that was filled with chattering mouths and non stop FM, the days we bunked classes using sports, culturals and ISE forum as excuse, the days we argued with our lecturers, the days when we were thrown out of our classes, the days we got caught for something, the days in which we were late to class, the days in which we made fun of our lecturers, the days when we played hand tennis with our class mates in the class during breaks, the days when we struggled not to sleep in class after the lunch break, the days when we ate our lunch during the class hours, the days when we couldn't control our laughter in class, the days when our friends got caught for something and the way we laughed about it, and lots more.
those fearless days of youth are gone. If I could rewind time then I will come back to relive these days!!!

With time memories fade, but not the ones like the birthday treats and birthday bumps, the fun we had in ragging the juniors and the frolic we had after getting caught, the mass bunks, the Kannada and English classes which we never attended, the break time chai ritual, the shared egg puffs and mountain dews, the group studies, the internals, the internal questions, the corridor talks with other class students during breaks, the prayers that i sang in others ears during assembly, the holidays, the naughty pranks, the bike rides and drops, the exams and its fear, Visiting friend's place, the 3hour lab periods which we finished in 1hour, the fights, the rackets in class, the rumors, the celebrations, the long queues for paying examination fees, the last minute preparations, the last glances of the books which we never opened after the exams, the 3hour exams where i couldn't control my pee, the tension of exam results, the shameless laughs shared after having a back or bad results, the revaluations, the ever postponing assignment dead lines, the unsubmitted assignments, the talks during class hours, the discussions about previous day's match and movies, the happiness in making other class students jealous, the friendship bands, the smses, the gud mrng and gud nite msgs, the movies, the things we shared, the stupid jokes, the pulling of others legs,

Those happy old days are gone but not out of my heart
I thank you all who has been a part of this journey.
I wish I can be a student again and meet our friends every day!!!

I have failed to make much better memories after the farewell. All of these are making me live another day.

An Irish Blessing to all of my FRIENDS

College fest in 2005

Sanskruthi 2005

This post has all the achievements of our class mates in the year 2005

Skit : 21st century Mahabarath.

In this video you can see most of our classmates. This script was written by most of the actors of this video along with Bhavya and Vinutha. Bhavya was the narrator. Vinutha was the costume designer who designed the crowns and the Ganesha's mask. The whole team was responsible for the props (like the monitor, keyboard, joysticks, Bat-Bhim's gadha). Overall a good team effort.

We actually got the II runner up, but later the judges decided to give away only the winners and runners prizes.

Cast: in the order of appearance
Vinutha : Lord Ganesha
Reagan : Dhuryodhan
Sarfraz : Dushasan
Khalid : Arjun
Arvind : Yudhishtar
Haider : Bhim
Swarna : Dhritarashtra
Gangambike: Gandhari
Ram Charan: Shakuni mama
Nishad : Draupadi

Mad Ads : Dhoka Cola: a Flop show

This is one of the stupidest/funniest things we did as a group. This is what you get when you force a junior to do the role of a girl standing in the bus stop and another junior to do the voice over. We had loads of fun while scripting, casting and recording. We had not practiced it as a whole program as someone or the other would be missing. We only rehearsed in bits and u can see all the flaws in this video, especially with Haider Ali, who had no idea of what he had to do. Since we did not get anybody to do the girl's role, we forced Haider to do it. He had no option but accept it has we were his seniors. We actually planned to have Nishad for that role, but he was busy practising for his mime with the other Mallu group. However he agreed to play the Ad man role at the final momment without any script and practice. We might have not won the competition but it was awesome fun and a great experience and definitely an integral part of our lives.
"This video is our MEMENTO."

After a long time we friends met and the occasion that united us was Chaya Rani's Reception, we all had great fun and it was like a great get-together. All of us had dinner together and stayed late and enjoyed each others company, wish such days come again and again....
Now Chaya don't come to conclusions and decide to marry again and again :) !!!

4>Swarna and Kiran's wedding

Place: Mysore
Date : 18 Jan 2009

Swarna's Wedding is another day in our lives that we spent together and totally rejoiced the day. RamCharan had arranged for a tempo traveler as the marriage was in Mysore, We planned for a early departure and the pick ups were well planned, but the pick ups got delayed due to a couple of people....
Though the tempo traveler had some mileage issues and ran out of fuel on the way, the journey was well relished. On our way to Mysore we had breakfast at Kamat, who actually gave us a heavy bill. The travel time was completely filled with fun and laughter. Everyone was made fun of and "pulling others legs" seemed to be the theme for the day.
Once we reached Mysore, we occupied the top gallery of the marriage hall that was not taken by anyone. The whole gallery was for ourselves and we had a great view of the reception as well. we had a ball and later had lunch together.
Since the trip to Goa in December 2005 we had not been out side Bangalore as a group and after 3 years we traveled together

Attendance: Raghavendra, Shuaib, Naveen, Srikanth, Chaya, Divya, Indhu, Shwetha Rithisha, Vinutha, Bhavya, Shankar, Ganesh, RamCharan, Arvind, Nitya.

5>Nishad and Deepa's wedding

Place: Kozhikhode (Calicut)
Date : 25 Jan 2009

This trip to Calicut by car was more like a misadventure. From the day we were invited, all of us were planning to attend Nishad's wedding... but the planning took so long and many of them were not able to decide if they were coming or not. Enough time had run out and we were far from booking tickets, so we went by a car. This Road trip was amazing.

Have a close look!! this is the simplest and fastest marriage that we ever witnessed. We actually wanted to kidnap Deepa (she has a lot of Gold) but Reagan wanted to cut Nishad's fingers (he had about 14 gold rings). Man these kerala marriages !!! I dunno whats with gold and malu weddings.

Attendance: Shankar, Arvind, Reagan, Shuaib, Rajendra and Bhavya.

Base for the formation of PIRT

The supposedly Goa Trip which later got converted into a Karnataka pilgrimage can be said to have laid the foundation of the Pirt. It was not a great trip but the people in the trip made the trip exciting. This was one hell of a trip that was very eventful. Since it was our last year of our graduation, our class mates decided on going for a trip and Goa was the unanimous destination. Many new relationships were made, and existing ones made stronger. We got know our class mates better and in a new way, the way that we have not known before, the way they are outside college.

We were in our 7th semester (Dec 2005) and everyone knew that, this was the last semester to enjoy. I would say that everyone did enjoy to the fullest. We started our enjoyment even before we boarded the swaraj mazda. Most of them have loads of memories that puts a smile on their face. The happenings in this trip is still spoken about and laughed over and over again.

Our Gang consisted of

Students: Arvind Shekar, Chaya Rani, Mahendra, Md Shuaib, Naveen Vasudevamurthy, Nishad Mohan, Raghavendra, Ram Charan, Ram Krishna, Reagan Bhaskar, Sandeep Gowda, Shankar Naidu, Shiva Kumar, Shwetha BC, Srikanth, Swarna Sree and Vinutha P.

Lecturers: Savitha and Veena.

Places Visited:

Goa, Shringeri, Murdeshwar, Goukarna and Koloor.

Buzz word of the trip:

Ling ling ling ling.

New phrases learnt:

1> you can go play with your b***s
2> Scratching as****e
3> Who is exploiting the situation

Since Graduation most of us did not meet each other for a long time. Each of them busy at first with job hunting and later with their work. Friendship faded away, communication among us reduced. Then came few marriages of fellow mates in 2008 and 2009 which was like a reunion. That’s when we revived our relationship and knew how much we missed it. Gone are those happy days but we still can make few happy moments out of the remaining life.......

Slowly the PIRT evolved.
